    Brief Interventions are a critical piece in the Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment process. This training introduces participants to the evidence based model of Brief Intervention, the Brief Negotiated Interview. Participants will learn the structure, techniques and tools of a Brief Negotiated interview and the appropriate times and patients to conduct them with as they implement SBIRT in their clinical locations (medication/substance use, alcohol, other health behavior change).

    OhioMHAS Continuing Education Committee is an approved provider of Continuing Education as shown below. Please note certification credits are only available to practitioners in Ohio; participants in other states are welcome to attend for educational purposes. OhioMHAS Continuing Education Committee is an approved provider of Continuing Education for RNs and LPNs for the Ohio Board of Nursing. OhioMHAS has been approved as a provider of Continuing Professional Education credit by the Ohio Counselor, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist Board. OhioMHAS is approved by OPA-MCE to offer continuing education for Psychologists. OhioMHAS is approved by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board to offer recognized clock hours for chemical dependency counselors and prevention professionals.
